Misguided?
While going through the updates of some of my friends on facebook, I had found someone share an article on how the Sikhs of Kashmir have received threats to leave the valley. This is in relation to the Kashmiris fight for Aazadi. There have been 63 killings since June this year and there has been political unrest all over the country due to the killing of an 8 year old boy by the CRPF. This has brought into question, once again, the AFSPA, which on many occasions has been the root cause for the most number of human rights violations in Kashmir. There have been requests made to the Indian Government from the UN - Human Rights Commissioner to repeal the act, but in vain. This is what the South Asian Human Rights Documentation Center had to say about the law
This reasoning exemplifies the vicious cycle which has been instituted in the North East due to the AFSPA. The use of the AFSPA pushes the demand for more autonomy, giving the peoples of the North East more reason to want to secede from a state which enacts such powers and the agitation which ensues continues to justify the use of the AFSPA from the point of view of the Indian Government.
A few replies into the post by my friend on facebook, I found myself stuck in an argument with one of his other friends. This is an excerpt from the same.
In my honest opinion, I do not understand how such an extremist agenda could solve a problem and I still wonder where some of the Indian youth get such a misguided sense of judgement. Comment?

Go Green!
If there is one thing I would like to concentrate on in 2009, it is going green! I learned to make a paper bag which I've been dreaming to do for a while now. Wikihow helped me create the bag and even though this is a small bag, it is useful for me to a great extent.
Check this blog by nandini nair for more on 'going green'.
